zombies have really been expressing themselves on the Internet lately. in addition to these jazzy haikus, they’re trying to find love at Zombie Harmony.

What Books Will You Share with Your Kids?

this question was posted at parent hacks and got me thinking as we prepare a library for our little one. i’ll have to agree that the Narnia books and Beverly Cleary titles will certainly be present, as they really cemented my love of reading. oh, and definitely some Richard Scarry, Eric Carle and Shel Silverstein prior to the children’s lit.

hot on the heels of their list of books everyone should read, the Guardian has published a list of the 50 best screenplay adaptations. once again, there will probably be a few rumblings about movies included or not included. lord of the rings and harry potter are sadly absent, but many great films are on the list.

Read This Before You Die

a group of librarians were asked which book every adult should read in their lifetime, and their answers make up this list. it’s a nice mix of classics and popular works, but still an arguable selection. i’ve read eight of the forty, most by choice, and am interested in several more. it’s interesting that dickens is on there three times, but then again, all the librarians surveyed were british.
